An internet connection will not be required to play offline Xbox One games After a one-time system set-up with a new Xbox One, you can play any disc based game without ever connecting online again. There is no 24 hour connection requirement and you can take your Xbox One anywhere you want and play your games, just like on Xbox 360.
Trade-in, lend, resell, gift, and rent disc based games just like you do today There will be no limitations to using and sharing games, it will work just as it does today on Xbox 360. In addition to buying a disc from a retailer, you can also download games from Xbox Live on day of release. If you choose to download your games, you will be able to play them offline just like you do today. Xbox One games will be playable on any Xbox One console -- there will be no regional restrictions.

It's great to see that Microsoft actually still have common sense. They would have lost a huge amount of money if they kept the restrictions in place.

This has literally just DOUBLED... DOUBLED the market for them. I'm really happy about this.

Backwards compatibility is realistically a bad idea because of the large costs and I think it's harsh that people expect it, now they need to make the kinect a separate attachment so the prices can be slashed and take out another advantage that Sony has.

Until they get rid of Kinect being forced on us, I wont be getting the XboxTivo. Probably wont get the Gaystation either, so looks like i'm lumbered in the stone age with my 360 while the rest of the world zooms off into a digital future. Oh well!!

Just read that diablo 3 characters cannot be transferred from the 360 to the Xbox one (although it hasnt officially been officially announced for the ONE just yet). But still because I will be playing a metric ton off d3, the Xbox one will be a later purchase, probably around feb/march when price drops

This is good news, while it is what put me off xbox one mostly, along with kinect Im not going to get one. personally im going to get a ps4 and keep my 360. To me, both consoles have there merits though all that app stuff they put in them doesnt intrest me at all..I mean..I'm buying a console..I'v owened ps's and xbox's and I dont understand the fanboyism thats around on the internet at all..I just want it to play games and the ps4 exclusives appeal to me more then xbox, the final fantasy mmo looks really nice as example
